Italian food is one of the most popular cuisines in Singapore. Given that there are so many Italian restaurants in town, sometimes it is really difficult to choose one for dinner.
Here’s my list of the best Italian Restaurants in Singapore.
Buon appetito!
I will go straight to the point: The buffet lunch at Basilico restaurant is one of the best, if not the best, in the $40-50 category.
I like Basilico Italian restaurant. Though the buffet spread is slightly limited, the restaurant more than makes up for it with the quality of the food. The antipasto counter, in particular, has fantastic choices.
On Saturday, Basilico has a full Italian buffet (without local spread) for $46++/pax, $56 (free flow juices & soft drinks) and $98++ (free flow prosecco & wine). And on Sunday, they have a Champagne Brunch at $139++ for free flow of champagne and wine. During dinner, it is a semi buffet where you can enjoy the same antipasti & desserts buffet with the choice of 1 main course at $69++. And one more thing, reservations are absolutely necessary.

When people ask me to recommend an Italian restaurant that serves good food at reasonable prices, my answer will always be: Bella Pizza at Robertson Quay.
It is my to-go place when I am craving for a hearty Italian dinner of pastas and pizzas.

Da Paolo Restaurant & Bistro Bar
Da Paolo Bistro Bar at Rochester Bar is a cross between their restaurant and pizza bar. The restaurant has two open kitchens, with the pizza bar being positioned near the entrance of the restaurant and the main kitchen on the further end.
It has a very extensive pizza menu, and is a nice place to go with a group of friends for dinner.

Whereas Da Paolo at Rochester Park has a huge al fresco dining area surrounded by greeneries, Da Paolo La Terrazza is slightly smaller with options of eating indoors for a more formal dinner, or dining at the tranquil al fresco area where you sit along the tree-lined street.
If you are having dinner at Chip Bee Gardens, check out Da Paolo La Terrazza.

Il Lido Italian Dining at Sentosa Golf Club is a restaurant that has consistently been voted as one of the best restaurants in Singapore, and it is frequently praised for the quality of Italian food.
Compared to its sister restaurant, Forlino at One Fullerton, il lido Italian restaurant is slightly more casual – think of it as a semi fine dining restaurant that comes with everything you would expect from a top-notch restaurant.

La Cantina in venezia is located on the 8th level of Changi Village Hotel and it has a very classy yet soothing ambiance. The Italian restaurant is ideal for a quiet lunch, or a romantic dinner with your date.
It is one of my favourite Italian restaurants, and I would go so far as to say that they have the best Linguine Al Granchio (crabmeat linguine) in town.

Pizzeria Mozza by Mario Batali is probably the most affordable option amongst the Marina Bay Sands celebrity chefs’ restaurants. The pizzas on Pizzeria Mozza’s menu are priced between $18 to $38. I’d think this is extremely good value given that most of the pizza restaurants in Singapore charge around the same price for a pizza.
Is Pizzeria Mozza the best pizza restaurant in Singapore? I don’t know… It is really hard to say since there are so many pizzerias in Singapore. But I think it is definitely among the best.

Helmed by Chef Michele Pavanello and housed at the corner of the Red Dot Traffic Building sits OTTO Ristorante. This classy, unpretentious establishment serves amazing Italian fare with a new-age influence. It’s a great place to have a business lunch, bond with the family over a good meal or even for a romantic night out.
f you’re looking to try an Italian restaurant that’s authentic and classic with a modern twist, Otto Ristorante is a great place to head to (if you haven’t already). I assure you it most likely won’t be your only visit.

Pasta Brava Italian Restaurant
Pasta Brava Italian Restaurant at Craig Road has been around for a long time. I’ve been told that they are worth a visit by many friends, but it took me until now to go there. I guess it’s better late than never, and I am really happy to tell you that it has joined the ranks as one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Singapore.

Basilico gets a thumbs up from me, their buffet lunch is impressive.
Oh! Osvaldo Ristorante Italiano is good! The service was two thumbs up! Friendly owners who chat with us for quite some time and the female owner even brought Sis and me for a tour of their kitchen and explained their operations! Enjoyed our food too. Yums. (:
I’d love to do the lunch buffet at Basilico Italian Restaurant when I’m back! What are some of the dishes that this restaurant is famous for?
I’ve previously dined at Ristorante De Parma…Their handmade pizzas are seriously to-die-for. But it also depends on your own preference. I really liked what I had but I can’t remember what item it was. Anyway, their homemade soups are good too! Don’t forget to leave some space for their delectable Tiramisu dessert! Looking forward to your reviews for the Italian restaurants listed above. Hopefully, you will visit and do a review on Basilico before I return…Then I’ll have something awesome to look forward to

Kim: Chilis at tanglin mall shld have the same menu right? it’s a bit of a hassle to go all the way to sentosa : p
vanillasugar: *Looking for a publisher* hahaha just kidding, thanks dear : )
shun: i love squid ink pasta! oh zambuca is good too? okie dokie! thanks for the heads up

It’s not classic Italian but more fusion Italian.
However, the food and service are great.

pasta brava is just … around the corner from my workplace. haha. 1 min walk? haven’t tried it though.
I love italian food. Just tried OTTO at Red Dot Museum, think that is what the building is called. Now having white asparagus seasonal menu…really really delicious. I agree that Osvaldo and previously Forlino…when mr osvaldo was there, are worth trying. Next on my list 1 for 1 pizze takeout from La Strada, only mon to thurs only..typing food really make me hungry.
you mit want to try out Pietrasanta. They are located at Portsdown Rd. Quaint little place. Found the freshly baked Foccacia bread is to die for but also expensive. Its around $8.90 per round bread can serve 3-4 pax.Love the rack of lamb. Their pigeon meat pasta(special of the day) delicious. found their Burruto appetizer daily special too exp @ $40 for a plate : a ball of buffalo milk mozzarella cheese, rocket leaves, few mini roma tomatoes & 4 thin slices parma ham. overall delicious food n nice environment. Dempsey without the commercialisation
Daphne: it’s time to check it out! let me know if it’s good okay!
jane: i heard about OTTO, how was your dinner there? oh there’s an one-for-one pizza deal for la strada now? thanks for letting me know!
alexandria: yes i heard of pietrsantra but haven had the chance to check it out yet, will keep it in mind : )
Hey, glad to be on your list!
See you soon!
Cheers
Ping
Ristorante de Parma
Please go try Saraceno Ristorante at Berjaya Hotel!! They have the bestest lamb and risotto ever :)
angela: i think i walked by that restaurant before! what did u have there?
I think OSO in Tanjong Pagar deserves a spot on your list
alison: Roger that! what do you recommend from there?
The pan fried eggs with black truffle, the lobster fettuccine and pork belly are good at oso
al borgo at bukit timah’s pretty good. It’s just next door to Le Borne marche XD
alison: okie dokie, will check them out : )
liz: that’s the Italian restaurant that serves wild boar pasta right?
hahaha yeah it is.
Hey LIC! U must try cacio e pepe at rochdale road!!! It’s really good especially their vongole!
noelle: Cacio e pepe at Rochdale road? Roger that : )
Haven’t tried a single one on your list but I personally think Al Forno along East Coast Road is really good, and at affordable prices too
kelly: Oh yes! i heard there’s one-for-one promotion for DBS credit card too!
The squid ink pasta on the top left of your collage looks delish. Is that from one of the restaurants that you went?
LC: Hello that’s from valentino restaurant https://www.ladyironchef.com/2010/02/09/ristorante-da-valentino-singapore/
i forgot to update u abt Pasta Brava, just got reminded of this blogpost when my friend shared it on his Facebook wall.
i celebrated Nick’s birthday with him at Pasta Brava in May, and we both had a good evening over all.
dinner was good, and i ordered the ravioli which i really enjoyed. nick enjoyed his pasta too (altho i forgot which one he ordered). none of the dishes we ordered stood out exceptionally tho, other than the good service.
spent abt 100 for 2 pax, including a starter and desserts. (oh yea, i realized tht they didn’t charge us for the tiramisu, cos whn i made my reservation, i asked thm to help to bring us a dessert with a candle on it, cos it’s my BF’s bday). that was a nice gesture for them to waive the price of the tiramisu, and the service was good without being too intrusive. the lava choc cake was goooood. but i’m biased probably cos i love lava choc cakes.
Hi, you shud definitely try Basilico!! after looking at your list, my frens and i went to basilico to hav our lunch buffet! its delish!! i love the desserts and we totally stuff ourselves with the desserts!!
Did a whole bunch of searching for a good Italian place for New Year’s – heard good things about Zambuca and Ristorante Bologna (almost went there but they only had a set menu on NYE). We ended up going to Oso in TP and it was so worth recommending. They have an entire cheese room! and veal ravioli and wild boar pasta. I could only get crappy iPhone photos but definitely check it out.
Yes! Al Forno is really good!!!!!!!!!!!!
I quite like Pasta Inc too but it’s nothing compared to Al Forno.
Have you tried La Brasserie? Italian in Bukit Timah – meant to be very good.
There’s a new Italian bistro at 881 Bukit Timah Road called a^3 bistro & bar. The homemade pasta there is amazing! Their tiramisu is also one of the best I’ve tasted so far. Definitely worth a try!
you haven’t tried gattopardo have u?
Hey Guys you have to try Da paolo Il Giardino food its really good one of best pasta in singapore..:)
try Casa Tartufo in Forum galleria…best Italian fine dining in Singapore, specialized in truffles
Anyone knows what happen to Osvaldo? They seem to have closed down and a new Italian restaurant has taken over its previous premises at Maxwell.
@kia: he opened his own restaurant. its called no menu @ boon tat street.
its very GOOD !
Palio at Sentosa is fantastic too!
Try Bonta Italian located at UE Square. They serve really good angel hair pasta! And i love the ambience and tiramisu too!
How exactly can you compile this list if you have only been to one restaurant? How much have these restaurants paid you to include them on this list?
@Santana: good choice i LOVE il giardino it’s one of my favs as well
have you tried Ristorante De Parma? Please, it’s nowhere near top 100 in my opinion. Went there for my birthday dinner last year and it bad, if not the worst Italian “restaurant” i’ve ever been to. pasta was terrible, pizza tasted like something I could heat up from the fridge, and i can’t remember what else we had (it’s that bad)
Another really good italian restaurant is Valentino! They serve really authentic italian food and good pastries! They also have a stall selling their pastries called perla in the food hall in takashimaya (:
Try InItaly at 38 Craig road. Former forlino head chef Mario Caramella very own restaurant. Cheap food and awesome wine. Do give it a try.
