Which is your favourite Thai Restaurant in Singapore? Enjoy your Pad Thai, Tom Yam Soup, and Green Curry!
Thanks, I love thai foooood!
I have a friend moving to Singapore soon, I will send this to her
I can attest to Thanying serving really superb quality Thai food. Naturally it’s also very pricey due to the location and ambience of the restaurant AND excellent food. A must try.
just ate at thanying sentosa ytd, the fried rice, green curry and padthai is really super yummy!!
There is a very good Thai fusion cafe called Black Canyon Coffee. Serves a great variety of gourmet coffee and beverages (Like TCC). Their papaya salad is really good with the right amount of spice! It’s at fusionopolis connxis building
Nakhon @ Kovan or Bedok serves really good and affordable Thai food! served by Thais and they are as comparable as Ah Loy!
Yup, Nankhon is awesome. Always long Queue at Bedok North’s branch.
Thai Accent at Vivo!
Porn’s
Food there is really not that impressive. I would rate it lower than the one at Purvis Street which I frequent.
The Tom Yum that they serve is not that strong in taste, can only taste more of the spiciness over anything else. Same for the mango salad, the spiciness also kills all other rooms for any other taste.
I agreed with Slacks…Porn’s food is not impressive. I ordered the Tom Yum seafood hotpot; the soup was too spicy even for a spicy lover like me…too much chopped Chilli padi in the soup. The sotong in the Tom Yum soup was overcooked and tasted like rubber. Priced at $12.90 a small pot, the soup is overpriced because there wasnt much seafood and the seafood wasnt really fresh…The stirred-fried kangkong was too oily and was lukewarm when served…The lemongrass chicken was only average…The only thing I like about Porn is it’s
ambience…it reminds me of the cafes found in Bangkok…
hi there!
do give e-sarn a shot!
try thaipan inside mandarin gardens at marine parade. it’s cheap and they have the best cereal prawn(you can even request to remove the shell!)
I like going to Jai Thai at Clover Road. The food is pretty good and pricing is extremely reasonable. I have tried Porn’s and the food is really horrible. I ordered the chicken basil with rice and the dish was extremely salty. My friend had a Phad Thai and it didn’t fair any better. Tried once and never going back again!
I love thanying and jim thompson @ dempsey!
You should give jim thompson a try, pretty good food and really nice ambiance!
Beer Thai House Restaurant..
it’s near to the diandin golden mile complex
tom yum with coconut milk, green curry, bbq pork, deep fried pork, thai ice tea…
^.^
Yhingthai palace restaurant is really a great place for fine thai dinning! i went to dine there yesterday and it was fantastic! the mango glutinous rice is a must try, super goooooood! the money is definitely worth spending.
Hey, which place is that pomelo salad picture from?? Looks amazing
kelly: it’s from sweet salty spicy
Bangkok Jam at GWC serves good thai food too
i think Ah-Loy Thai is not that nice. Personally maybe it’s because I’m Thai. hahaha. the food there are a bit too salty and the tom yam is not that nice. I guess my comment will be more related to Thai people who wants a nice place to eat their food.
There’s a shop at Killiney Road and it offers a buffet. The Tom Yam is nice and the Minced Pork Basil is nice. Maybe you can try that place. And…it’s Spicy!
Sawatdee kha keziah!
Is the place you’re talking about Suan thai? Do they also have som tum as part of their buffet menu and do they “tum” it fresh when ordering? Oh many of my Thai friends have recommended me the basil inn thai street food in Pasir ris coz they say the food is exactly like what they get back in krung thep
Haven’t you tried Yummy Thai ?!
It has one of the best Tomyam ive tried.
Old Airport Road Hawker centre #01-161
HI thai fooodies! Try this Joe’s Kitchen just opposite Queensqay Shopping Centre, nnext to AIA building. They having the most amazing Vermicelli Claypot Crab and stuffed chicken wings. Easy on the pocket!
You should try Thai Smile Cafe at boat quay. Nice (:
Somboon Thai Food at Lavender Food Square #01-02.
Try Steamed Sea Bass,Pinapple fried rice,Basil leaves pork…So nice!!!
Sad to see that there’s no Jai Thai here. They offer the cheapest Thai food in SG yet still great tasting.
I particularly like Jai Thai’s tako, green curry, deep fried fish & many others, really.
Think by far, First Thai offers the best Thai food in my opinion but then again haven’t tried the palace restaurant opposite. Once I do, then I’ll decide to tell for sure…:)
Tried Porn’s too n it is v disappointed even for norm standards, let alone one opened by a Thai himself. Firstly, for a tiny Portion, it is grossly overPriced. 1 small tomyum hotpot, a small plate of mango salad, another pork dish, 2 drinks costs over $40 bucks. A lover of tomyum soup, the one they hv there can’t even compare to the nissin instant one.
Nakhon’s kitchen is one good one It’s located at kovan beside the prata shop
Tried Porn’s with 3 friends.
Disappointed with the food quality and localised taste.
Star power main draw.
Expensive too.
A Roy Thai at Funan IT Mall – an unlikely place to find good food but apparently it is where the Thai princess dines whenever she is in Singapore.
Must try: Thai steamed fish and their tom yum.
Do try out the Aroy-Dee Food at 30 Foch Road ( Behind Lavender food Square, Under Hotel 81 coffee shop) the food is very Authentic and price reasonable. I was told they formally from bencoolen st. coffee shop and they closed at 6am.
Finally tried out porn’s with a friend and I have to say it was really disappointing. Despite the exaggerating crowd, the food was much worse than flying chilies(already closed)
Had the Tom yum, and have to agree it’s way to spicy to enjoy even for a spicy-food lover like me. Also had the orange fish curry(tried cause it’s chefs recommendations); it really has more cabbage than fish.
It was overpriced and really, not worth the taste.
NAKHON KITCHEN!
my bf and i ate:
pandan leaves chicken
thai fishcake
green curry (beef)
tomyam clear soup (chicken)
phad thai
pineapple fried rice
lemongrass drink
the amount of food is good for 3-4 people but the 2 of us cleaned them off =/ total bill was $43. go early to avoid the queue! (:
There is another thai coffeeshop, better than dian leluk golden mile.
its near the corner on 1st level golden mile. the man boss teeth is croked, so you can recognise him easily. Love tom yam, pineapple rice, basil pork…etc.. cheap too. really. big portion.
I’m surprised that Sabai Fine Thai has not received any mentions here. Their food is very good and if you can handle sitting outdoors, they have a lovely view over Marina Bay. Their cod is one of my favourites… clean and powerful flavours!
You should try Jai Thai!
We tried Porn’s. It was an utter disappointment with mid pricing level.
We tried First Thai. It was good with mid pricing level.
We tried Pattara. It was good with high pricing level.
We tried Ruby, Thai Inspired Cuisine at Millenia Walk. Food was good with mid pricing level. Native Thai Chefs with track record from leading local Thai restaurants. Go for their clear Tom Yum soup, Massamun curry, dry green curry & Suki vermicelli.
Anyone has good Thai food caterer to recommend?
Nakhon @ Kovan is good!
We ordered for 4 pax:
- Beef salad
- Pandan chicken
- Clear Tom Yum soup (super spicy – had a bad sore throat after that)
- Fried kway teow
- Red Beef Curry
- Pineapple rice
@Berry – just don’t use Lerk Thai for catering. I used them once in early Sep 2011. It was pretty bad and I didn’t even hear a single praise from my guest, on the contrary, I only heard bad feedback.
Thanks Inspirazions, your input is really helpful.
How about Jai Thai Catering? Heard that the food is not bad in their restaurant. Anyone can recommend which dishes are nice?
JAI THAI. NUFF’ SAID.
Hi Brad! You should check out The Basil Inn. They’re located at Downtown East, and serve really good stuff for very affordable prices. Very unstated & small shop space, but the food more than makes up for it.
Hi friends, you should check out this newly open THAI SPECIALITY STEAMBOAT restaurant nestled near Sembawang Park at 1030 Sembawang Road… they specialize in raw beef & seafood… very cozy environment, cheap prices, the ingredients are fresh and delicious!Me and family spend only $40 for 4 adults and 2 children for a sumptitious Thai Steamboat dinner ! So shiok!
I stay near there.. just discovered this great place! They sell nonya otah and BBQ supplies at wholesale prices there too, since the restaurant is opened by http://www.DefuOtah.com. Taste it to believe me…
Thanks for your recommendations! Just went to the Defu’s Thai Beef Charcoal Steamboat restaurant at 1030 Sembawang Road tonight! You are right! Really value for money! Wagyu beef steamboat for only $30 for 2 persons! The Thai kway teow so delicious, I ate 3 bowls!Must try!!I highly recommend to those who haven’t tried their Thai Beef Steamboat! The restaurant’s along the main road leading to Sembawang Park. The nonya otah also tasted heavenly!Call the restaurant to book your free parking lots though …
Please try Nakhon @ Kovan, the food there is amazing! The long queue is always worth it! And also Jim Thompson @ Dempsey is good. More pricey though.
Some good reviews here in the comments.
See Elmer’s reviews of Thanying (there are 3), utter disappointment. I was there, I can attest.
We often go to Mai Thai in HV which is good, not too expensive.
Patara is good, though a little pricey and no Singha!
The new Kha is ok, too pricey though, some dishes are good, others don’t live up to the hype. Like Italian, Thai is not supposed to be expensive.
Tried Ruby’s for lunch, nothing spectacular but will try it for dinner, maybe tonight (how I found this site). Will see if I agree with Jughead above.
The SuanThai on Killiney was a cacophony on the weekend, so noisy it wasn’t worth the experience, but ok food for a good price if cost is your driver.
U shld try Tom yum kungfu @ circular rd! My fav Thai food near my workplace. Affordable lunch sets an yummy steamboat for dinner menu
Well, simple Thai food that is absolutely cheap and good.
Try SAP Thai Food at Amoy Street Food Centre #
01-58
Yes, try Nakhon Thai food at Kovan! Affordable and really good. However, queue can get very long, so better go early if wanna eat dinner there.
