J65 – 6 Different Themed Buffets Including Lobsters, Crabs, Beef And Seafood

J65 Collage

As one of our all-time favourite spots in Singapore for affordable buffet line-ups, J65 at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore constantly surprises us with new dishes and themes that are hard to resist.

Now, you can get excited every day of the week with the themed buffet nights through the week! There are 6 different buffet themes including Crab, Beef, Lobster, Prawn, Seafood and local food.

The one thing that we really appreciate about J65′s spread is the live stations. From roasted meats to local delicacies such as oyster omelette, on top of a DIY Rojak counter and a popiah booth with chef making the popiah fresh on the spot, J65 is ever ready to impress and it has undisputedly one of the most value-for-money spreads in Singapore.

Exclusively for Ladyironchef readers only, you are entitled to a complimentary bucket of 8 fresh oysters from Sundays to Thursdays. Isn’t this an offer you would love to redeem? You have to read on then.

J65 Interior

Getting through the work week might prove to be draining and stressful, but ending the days off with a good, hearty meal makes them more painless. J65′s Eat Through The Week has various themes, and every day sees a different theme that you can look forward to feasting on when the day comes to a close.

The one thing we really appreciate about J65 is the huge range of exemplary local dishes – of which many are mainstays in the daily line-ups.

J65 Crabs

CRAB! IT’S MONDAY…

Yea, crap. We are all not fans of Mondays.

But we are so going to chase Monday blues away with crabs. A myriad of colourful crab dishes to look forward to, including Singapore-style options such as Salted Egg Crab and Black Pepper Crab. There’s a Homemade Crab Popiah as well.

Yes, you get to enjoy all of these dishes free flow, besides the regular mainstays. We highly recommend grabbing some fresh bread from the selection of rolls to soak up the sauces and to fully enjoy the crustaceans.

J65 Beef Buffet

TUESDAY – BEEF YOURSELF UP!

If shellfish or seafood are not up your alley, beef should be.

Beef Yourself Up! on Tuesdays will allow you to feast on an array of steaks, from Roast Rib Eye to Beef Rendang Tok to Sup Ekor (the Malaysian rendition of the Oxtail Soup).

You can also get a Tiger Beer Draft on Tuesday nights for just S$5++. Ahhh, just the sound of meats and beer is making us all stoked.

J65 Lobster Buffet

WEDNESDAY – LOBSTER ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

Wednesdays means we are halfway to the weekends. We’ve survived half the work week, and this means we should treat ourselves to lobsters – free flow, no less.

Hand Tossed Lobster Roll, Roasted Lobster Bisque and Singapore Lobster Laksa are all available for every Wednesday’s spread. Besides that, the Lobster Thermidor – baked in a creamy mixture with egg yolks and brandy – is what we would save our stomach space for.

J65 Sangria

And because it’s Ladies Night, all female diners can also enjoy a free first sampler Sangria. One-for-one Sangrias after that go for S$14++ all night long.

J65 Prawns

THURSDAY – HIS MAJESTY THE KING PRAWN

Thursdays are specially reserved for all you people who love prawns. Eat to your heart’s content with prawn dishes such as Baked Sea Salt King Prawns, Wasabi Prawns, Claypot Live Prawns in Herbal Broth and Penang Prawn Mee.

Not forgetting the ever popular Salted Egg Yolk Prawns, of course. J65′s rendition is de-shelled, coated in a nice batter before being deep fried. Big, crunchy prawns are lavishly covered in luscious salted egg yolk sauce, sporting a subtle spiciness in every bite.

The regular buffet spread also includes fresh prawns on ice that you can enjoy on its own.

Hotel Jen Tanglin Seafood Buffet

FRIDAY & SATURDAY – HOOKED! SEAFOOD MANIA

Oh yes, we’ve made it through the week, and we shall celebrate TGIF with Hooked! Seafood Mania – available on both Fridays and Saturdays.

Look forward to a selection of fresh seafood options, including Fin de Claire oysters, lobsters, crabs, prawns and scallops. All of these fresh seafood on ice are available free flow and that only means we can eat all we want, as much as we want – all at one price!

J65 Roast Meats

SUNDAY – LET’S GO LOCAL

With a new week on the horizon, we need nothing more than comfort. And that’s when J65′s acclaimed local delicacies will do the trick.

Pig out with a localised spread that includes Lamb Briyani, Chef’s Signature Popiah, Fried Oyster Omelette and Teochew Braised Duck. The oyster omelette is prepared at the live station a la minute style, and it comes a special homemade chilli sauce that is super addictive.

At the Popiah station, you can choose to roll one for yourself or get the chef to get one done for you.

And no one steps out of J65 without trying their roasts and Singapore Chicken Rice. The chef has decades of experience dealing with roasts and you bet the roast duck and char siew are incredibly fragrant and tasty.

J65 Desserts

Sweet endings are in the form of a standalone dessert counter at J65. A whole area dedicated to desserts will leave you mind-boggled. We’ve been there a couple of times, but it still impresses every single time.

There is an adorable pull-out refrigerator of pretty puddings and jellies that you can choose from. We also love the floral swiss rolls that come in flavours such as rose and lavender.

Local desserts are mainstays at J65, and the culinary team puts out a tray of freshly baked Nyonya kuehs daily; think kueh lapis, kueh salat and kueh dadar.
