Korean restaurant Seoul Jjimdak in City Square Mall has been in the spotlight lately for introducing authentic Jjimdak and Korean Army Stew that is very tasty and wallet-friendly.

If you missed their previous lunch deal, the folks at Seoul Jjimdak have introduced a new special deal for both the Jjimdak and Korean Army Stew – which will be going at only S$23.90++ each. This is a whopping 30% off its usual price of S$36.90++, and they are available daily from 11.30am to 3pm, including weekends and public holidays!
Jjimdak is chicken stew braised in soya sauce that is usually slightly sweet; the Budae Jjigae (or otherwise known as Korean Army Stew) is that hearty big pot of kimchi stew that everyone loves.
These two signature stews at Seoul Jjimdak can easily feed two or three people, ensuring you get your money’s worth when you dine there.
The huge portion of Jjimdak consists of chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions and potato noodles braised in soya sauce. We were singing praises of the tender chicken chunks that have been braised to absorb all the flavours of the sauce which is a mix of salty and sweet.
Go all out with the toppings that you can add into your Seoul Jjimdak with options such as the Assorted Mushrooms (S$4.90++), Double Cheese (S$3.90++), Mozzarella Cheese (S$2.90++), Prawns & Mussels (S$5.90++) and Tteokbokki (S$2.90++).
As for the Budae Jjigae (Korean Army Stew), it is served with baked beans, luncheon meat, pork belly strips, tofu and mixed vegetables. You can also order add-ons for this homemade kimchi stew. Carbs such as Ramyeon (S$2.90++) and Steamed White Rice (S$1.50++) go best when having kimchi stew. This is the next best selling dish after the Jjimdak!
