Ippoh Tempura Bar – Osaka’s Famous Tempura Restaurant Is Opening In Singapore

Singapore Ippoh Tempura Bar

Ippoh, a famous tempura restaurant in Osaka, is opening its casual dining concept in Singapore this month.

Ask any local in Osaka to recommend a tempura shop in Osaka and they are likely to direct you to Ippoh, which is said to be the oldest and best tempura eatery in the region. No foodie would pass up the chance to give this prestigious restaurant a try.

And if you aren’t heading to Japan anytime soon, that’s fine too because you will have the chance to taste Ippoh’s crispy and delicate Osaka style tempura right here in Singapore.

Ippoh Tempura Bar by Ginza Ippoh will be opening at COMO Dempsey on 10 December 2016. Chef Masaru Seki, the fifth-generation member of the founding family has promised that the eatery will stick strictly to the same culinary standards as the original Ippoh outlet in Japan.

Expect only the most premium ingredients to be used which changes accordingly to the season. Every piece of tempura is fried individually with care, using high-quality safflower oil to lock in all the rich flavours in the tempura sans the greasiness found in most tempuras.

Ippoh Tempura Chef

Of course, every chef has been trained to master the art of tempura-making, from crafting the tempura to understanding the right oil temperature and time taken on the fryer so that the tempura is crisp on the outside and yet cooked to perfection inside.

Visitors will be seated in a 1,200 square feet restaurant that can fit up to 18 pax, with the best seats at the tempura bar where you will get to watch your tempura being prepared carefully by hand before it is served to you.
