belinda: for dim sum buffet, i’ll go to cherry garden (48++)! it’s one of the best dim sum places in Singapore. If you have a higher budget, yanting weekend dim sum buffet is definitely the one : )
another nice list! thx!
Hi ladyironchef,
i’m looking for some nice dim sum buffet with wide variety of dim sum choices for sunday. but preferly below 20bucks. is there any good recommendation?
Bella: I don’t think you can get good dim sum buffet under 20 bucks. the only one i can think of is probably zhou’s kitchen?
Hi ladyironchef,
if my budget is 50bucks and below? is there any good dim sum buffet recommendation for sunday?
Bella: Cherry Garden dim sum buffet is my favourite, it’s about 45++/pax
ladyironchef,
just called cherry garden they dont have any more seatings.. got any more recommendations?? T___T
bella: I’d go for Jing’s weekend buffet. If i am not wrong, it’s $38++. hmm, for ala carte dim sum, taste paradise, royal china and yanting are my top choices
Isnt dragon gate gone..? E whole org doesnt seem to exist either..?
Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe? Really?
Hihi,
Do you know of the Excelsipr Hotel Rivercity restaurant? I couldn’t get hold of them for the dim sum buffet. Wanna check with you have they closed down already? Thanks!
Hi,
Really thankful for coming up with this list of dim sum places. Every time when I think of dim sum, I’ll think of your website.
Just to check with you…
I tried looking for River City & Orient Ocean Restaurant but I can’t find their websites and from some online scources, they seemed to be no longer operating. Is it true?
As for DragonGate restaurant, are they still selling dim sum? their website didn’t seemed to show they have dim sum available.
Sherly: Did you walk past the place? I’m not sure if they are still there, maybe you can share with us after you find out?
Miko: Hello, I haven been to both restaurants for a while, so not exactly sure if they are still there. Why don’t you try to give them a call?
you missed out swee chun dim sum at jalan besar! hehe..
Hi ladyironchef,
do you have recommendations for baked char siew baos like they have at tim ho wan? i’m having super cravings haha
thank you for the dim sum list
Jin: Wah Lok has a baked char siew bao which is pretty good, but nothing like Tim Ho Wan’s of course. Otherwise, try the char siew sou at Yan ting or Paradise pavilion?
thank you ladyironchef i will go and check them out
Excelsoir no longer has the restaurant River City.
Hotel Miramar’s Orient Ocean changed to Peach Garden. Pricings much higher now at ard $30++ per pax.
Thanks for all your hard work and efforts! I gotta try your recommendations!
Victoria Peak at Orchard Central, 11th Storey (if I remember correctly)
Please update the list as some of the companies have changed names, business hours, and prices (different timing in a day). More details informations.
Thanks for your hard work.
I would like to recommend “Wo Peng Cuisine” at Furama Hotel 3rd floor located in ChinaTown. You will be surprised about the great taste of roasted Siew Mai, Prawn Dumpling, Wanton Soup, etc.
Hi, i would like to ask, after all this time, is taste paradise, yan ting and royal china still your top three choices for the best dim sum in singapore or are there emerging competitors that is worth a try? (:
I’m looking for a dim-sum restaurant because the ones we’ve been to always disappoint :/
@Mil Yes those three are still my favourite dim sum places, but I’d suggest paradise pavilion over taste paradise. (Both of them are under the same group.)
Hi , any idea whether is Dragon gate restaurant still open? Been trying to call to make a reservation but no one’s answering.
To Wei Hao: Dragon gate restaurant has closed and is replaced by Ban Heng Pavilion Restaurant
http://cuisineparadise-eatout.blogspot.com/2011/06/dim-sum-buffet-ban-heng-pavilion.html
Brad, please do update your list
Btw, your blog is my FOOD BIBLE!
Hi. Thank you for your helpful list.
U’ll have to cross out Fortunate Yum Cha Restaurant at International which has closed.
does any one knw if miramar hotel one is still opened?
BTW Banheng restaurant’s website cannot be accessed Is it still operating?
Thank you, your list of sharing was an insight, while I’m searching for early morning dim sum hidout reseach. Meanwhile, here to share with u, Tak Po Dim Sum @42-46 Smith Street, Singapore. Their queue starts strangely perpendicular to the walkway, in front of the cashier counter though…
Hi, what would you recommend for dim sum dinner on sun night?
Try Park Palace at Grand Park City Hall & give your review on it!
Hello which one win your vote for Dim Sum other than your fav 3…Hua Ting, Majestic Restaurant & Li Bai. Majestic Restaurant has limited variety even on weekend. Any other recommendation?
@cheewee Other than my three favourite restaurants – Yan Ting, Paradise Pavilion, and Royal China – I would also recommend Cherry Garden and Crystal Jade Golden Palace. Hua Ting is not too bad, but I haven’t been there for a long time, so I am not sure if it’s still as good.
Is River City at Excelsior ShoppingI centre still operating? The nbr never seemed able to get through?
Uou can check out Swatow high tea dimsum buffet as well.. =)
Forget about Swee Choon along Jalan Besar. Maybe 10 years ago that name meant something, now it’s just banking on the success of its former glory from 4 decades ago. These days you can find better dim sum at your run of the mill coffeeshop. Now, if you’re talking about dim sum in the same area one can find better at the coffeeshop opposite at the Maude Road/Jalan Besar corner that sells the jumbo Ye Zi Mei baos.
Hi, what would you recommend dim sum dinner on weekdays?
I thought the dim sum at Cassia at Capella is rather good. You may want to try it
Of all the dim sum places I have tried in Singapore… my favourite still remains Din Tai Fung and it’s pork dumplings! But this is quite a list… thanks!
Hi, i do enjoy your blog, very informative, great pictures. I’ll be in Singapore late dec 2013. I’m in the business of tea, I would to purchase teawear and tea accessories, would you be able to make any suggestion?
Kind regards
Liliana
You know for the dim sum. There’s this lovely dim sum stall in aljunied block 119. It’s a small stall in a coffeeshop. One day you and melody should go try. Maybe it’s now for you. You can add on to your dim sum lists. Good luck !
Went to Victor’s Kitchen. To us Victor’s Kitchen is really not worth going. The dim sum are not fine at all. Items that are supposed to serve warm, are not warm. Very disappointing. The food is not worth the price they charge. The Staff are very unfriendly, at times are very rude too.
I love a great dim sum, the kind of cheong fun ingredient that doesn’t slip off, a good salted egg yolk amount VS bun proportion, carrot cake with wok hei flavor, bolo bun with a crispy sweet pastry and savoury filling. Tried many places, and to me, WO PENG dim sum tastes like the real deal. In terms of the kind of items you’d go back for, chef’s skills, quality, price and the staff’s ren qing wei. Their crispy fish skin, lobster bun, cheong fun, char siew sou, BBQ siew mai, hawthorn jelly are a must try! My friends and I go for their dim sum almost every weekend. Perhaps you could do a review of them? Something not many Singaporeans have heard of but serve a whopping good dim sum. Hehe
